A subscription is for a service that renews. Choose the client, frequency and first due date, then add the line items the client pays for.
Where to start
Open New → Subscription or select New in the Subscriptions list. You can also turn a client project into a subscription from its card.
If the client needs to accept a quote, start with the Create quote link at the top, available when you can issue quotes. After acceptance, use Create project on the quote record to create the subscription.
You can also create the quote from a saved subscription record: the client and line items are already filled in. Follow Issuing a document.
The Subscription tab
Choose the Client, enter the title and choose How often. The Next due date is the first date from which renewals and notices start: when creating it cannot be earlier than today.
Also check the payment method and other available options. With more than one user, the subscription is followed by whoever follows its client: set it on the client record. If the client does not exist, create it first or save the subscription before opening its card.
Custom fields
Custom fields depend on your company. Fill them in when they help describe or filter the subscription.
Saving
Save creates the subscription as active and opens its card: use Create document when you want to invoice. Save and new creates it and reopens an empty card. An active subscription follows its due dates right away; the creation window has no Draft choice.
To prepare the subscription without letting it renew, choose Draft from the Change status menu after saving. The option is available only with no invoiced or paid periods and no issued documents: see Statuses and archive.
After creation
Open the subscription card to add line items, set notices and follow due dates, documents and payments.
