A document can be collected in more than one payment. Reneva keeps what has arrived separate from what is still missing, without touching the document's total.
Splitting the collection into several due dates
With Split into installments, on the record of an invoice or a proforma, you spread the amount over several installments instead of one. Each installment becomes its own row in the Payments section. Issuing a document explains how to set them up.
An example
Installments split what the client transfers: with a withholding tax, the total minus the withholding tax, not the full total. An invoice with a €1,000 taxable amount, 22% VAT and 20% withholding tax has a €1,220 total and a €1,020 net payable: split into two due dates, each one is worth €510.00.
Recording the payment of one due date
On every row in Payments use Record the payment when the money for that due date arrives: the row closes in full, the other rows stay open. The document shows as Paid only once every due date is collected.
If less than what is due arrives
When a bank match records an amount lower than the due date, the row stays open with the balance still missing: you do not need to redo the plan.
Where you see the remaining balance
At the top of the Payments section (Installments while they can still be edited) you read "Collected … of … · Remaining …". Below, every row shows Installment, Due date, Amount and Status. The document's total never changes: only the remaining balance at the top changes.
Undoing a collection
On a row already collected, Undo the collection reverses only that due date. When several due dates were collected together by the same movement, the reversal covers only the share of that row and the others stay collected: Correcting or cancelling a document explains the cases.
