Tasks split an internal project into more precise activities. Use them when you want to understand where time goes; without tasks, time stays on the project.
Tasks
Open the project and add or edit Tasks. Give each one a clear name and choose a Category when you need to distinguish the work done. If a task has logged hours or contains subtasks, you cannot delete it: use Archive instead to keep the time entries, subtasks, and their rate.
Assigned to identifies who works on the task. It starts with the people selected for the project and you can change it; with only one user, the field stays hidden.
Estimated hours
Open a task and enter Estimated hours in hours:minutes format, from 0:00 to 999:59. This is an editable estimate, independent of tracked hours.
For Renewals and Client projects, tasks created from line items receive an initial estimate from the line item's net amount and its category rate. For example, €300 at €60/h gives 5:00. If the data is invalid or the result exceeds 999:59, the field stays empty.
When Reneva creates tasks by itself, a notice says how many: "3 tasks created".
Hours budget
Hours budget adds up the Estimated hours saved in the project's tasks, including archived ones. Change an estimate and save to update the summary immediately. Changing amounts or rates does not recalculate this total from line items.
Used compares tracked hours with the same Hours budget. Internal projects and Client projects use total hours; recurring Renewals use the current renewal period and restart at each due date. For example, 3 tracked hours out of 6 estimated hours gives 50%.
If no task has Estimated hours, Hours budget shows “—”. If the sum is zero, it shows zero hours. In both cases, Used shows “—” because no percentage is available.
Hourly rate
The rate associated with the project or its category gives hours a euro value. For internal projects, that value represents the cost of time, not an amount to invoice.
Manage categories in Settings → Customizations → Categories. If you change a rate, check the summaries that use that value.
